Many actually forgot about the existance of the upcoming PS3 JRPG Shirokishi Monogatari (White Knight Story), by Level 5. This is mostly due to the fact that there has been a defening silence about it for many months. A few days ago, a notice on the website warned us all that the game definately wasn't dead. Now people are reporting that the new issue of weekly Famitsu has a release date for the game (at least in Japan) and that's December the 11th, 2008. of course nothing is known, still, about release dates for the US and Europe.
This is definately lovely news for me, I always watched at Shirokishi with very interested eyes. The concept (epic fantasy robot fighting a-la Escaflowne, and lots of romance, elements that's sorely missing from too many games, lately) seems awesome, and, for once, the game seems to have a quite extensive main character customization. An element that's rarely seen in a JRPG.
Will Shirokishi Monogatori manage to counter the JRPGs released on the xbox 360, and raise the bar for the genre on the PS3? We can only wait and see. Most probably we'll know much more about it next month, at the Tokyo Game Show.
